Société Place Maillardville Society operated out of a city-owned facility located at 1200 Cartier Ave in Coquitlam for almost 22 years. The facility was initially built in 1979 and operated as a neighbourhood house governed by Association Habitat Maillardville. In late 2001, a new board of directors were established, and the Société Place Maillardville Society was formed. Partially funded by the City of Coquitlam, the Society offered the community of Maillardville their first Community Centre, providing a wide range of programming, events, fundraisers and much more. In 2020, the City of Coquitlam began construction on a replacement building to replace the aging facility. In the Spring of 2022, it was announced that the City would be taking over operations of the new facility, leaving the society without an operating location. In Fall 2022, the Society vacated the older community centre prior to its demolition, and relocated its office in Maillard Middle School, continuing to offer its programs and services at remote locations throughout the community.
