Place Maillardville Community Centre's updated Covid-19 Safety Plan
Our Winter 2021 Birthday Parties have been cancelled up until the end of March 31, 2021. We hope to be able to offer them again in the Spring, but will make our decision based on the most current recommendation from Public Health.
Great news! At the April 16, 2018 City of Coquitlam Council Meeting, Council approved a city staff report to proceed with building a replacement facility for Place Maillardville Community Centre. The report outlined a few key points:
Place Maillardville has been a cornerstone of the Maillardville neighbourhood for 40 years, and this aging facility can no longer effectively sustain the needs of the community. A new facility will provide an enhanced space to continue to serve the growing and changing needs of the neighbourhood.
The future Place Maillardville Community Centre is proposed to be approximately 2,000 square metres (22,000 square feet) in size, which would enhance the amenities and services offered within a scale, budget and size appropriate for the neighbourhood.
Proposed program spaces and amenities include:
- a single-court gymnasium
- multi-purpose spaces providing flexible space, with server kitchen
- a lounge for seniors/youth
- flex space
- teaching kitchen
- meeting rooms
- child minding space
- administrative offices
- underground parking
- outdoor space including a plaza and park space
Place Maillardville Community Centre is a non profit community centre located in West Coquitlam. We help unify and strengthen Maillardville and make it a better neighbourhood by offering opportunities that enable our neighbours to enrich their lives through community programs, community involvement and volunteerism.
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which was created in 2001. To find out more information about Place Maillardville Community Center, see our links below.
